How to Verify your XPUB Wallet Connection

This article describes the process of validating a bitcoin wallet connection in Zaprite.

Written by John

Zaprite enables merchants to connect their own bitcoin onchain XPUB to accept payments directly to their own self-custody wallets. When connecting a watch-only XPUB you will be required to validate the connection by performing a check to ensure Zaprite is deriving the correct receive addresses for your wallet.

Wallet Validation

To validate a wallet connection, you must enter the last 6 characters of the first wallet address, at index 0.

Once you have pasted or scanned a watch-only XPUB, Zaprite will derive the first address and display it with the last 6 characters missing.

You must find the first address in your wallet and copy the last 6 characters into the space provided.

This lets us know that we are using the correct derivation path and generating the correct receive addresses to show on your Checkouts.

Note: You can change the Address Type to have Zaprite use a different address format. The setting you choose here should match what you see in your wallet.

When you have entered the correct characters you can click [ OK ] to save the connection and start using the wallet on your Checkouts.
